  (on proofreading this, i feel that this is more preachy then i meant it.

  so as a disclaimer, i hope you know that if you get that impression, that i didn't mean it that way.

  Jeff,

  You make some valid points and ask some important questions. I've stayed away a long time because it was taking way too much of my time, and I wasn't getting out of or putting into the site what I had hoped for.

  I'm here this weekend as a conglomeration of problems/issues made me feel the need to just reach out to those who've "been there, done that, and to just bitch:"

  My JW parents are in town for an ASSembly and call to invite my aunt (who's no different from me, except that she's not d'fed) to dinner; of course they don't invite me cuz I'm d'fed. The weird thing is, I'm perfectly happy not to spend time with them cuz they're religious obsession has made them impossible people to socialize with, but I do lament the loss of family period. It is a real loss, despite all the other good things in my life.

  I've been sick with a cold and my car broke. (I took a break from the computer to go out and buy and install a new battery and air filter).

  You know, the anger that people experience comes and goes, as can the obsessions . . . i

  . . . t's always good to have someone around to remind us of when we're becoming obsessive or overly preoccupied with one thing or another.

  Forgive me please for answering this irrelevent question of Spike's, but I just can not help myself. Spike said:

  I say No! The issue of Jehovah's Universal Sovereignty is more important than any personal salvation, whether for myself or other. Personal salvation is CONTINGENT upon supporting fulling the issue of Jehovah's Universal Sovereignty. Jehovah doesn't (and will not) forget any of his loyal servants.

  Spike - Why would an all-powerful god need any servants or witnesses to establish his sovereignty? Couldn't he just do that himself?

  This Disturbs Me Most of All

  no, it's not the "claw hand"!

  what disturbs me most of all is the potter's shards.. any coin collector will tell you that the "imperfect" coins are the most valuable.

  any art historian will tell you that the value of a painting is it's originality and uniqueness and the talent that can only come with time, suffering, and perserverence.. it is the oddities and quirks in one of a kind pieces that make them a delight and a treasure.. so why is it that this potter has no appreciation for uniqueness?

  The Curious Case of Olin R. Moyle

  olin r. moyle was the society's attorney from about 1930 to 1939. he authored several of the society's legal publications.

  he later became increasingly disenchanted with the moral tone of bethel, especially the harsh and obscene language judge rutherford used (often in print) and what he considered to be excessive drinking there.

  when moyle could no longer tolerate the situation, he wrote a letter to rutherford with his complaints, rutherford responded by promptly expelling him and his wife from bethel.

  It's good that you're so easy-going and supportive.

  I wonder if your wife would have gotten that degree if she'd married a more uptight and "toe-the-line" kind of JW. She may have had to leave the bOrg AND her husband, first.

  I'm glad you both enjoyed the day and no one had to make any serious compromises to do it!

  If you can live with each other and be happy without "making points" about anything, then do it, cuz beating a dead horse to death is still beating a dead horse to death.

  well a few actually......so i'm sitting in the we'redumb hall today, and the core of the topic is recognizing gods qualities through jesus actions and also how jesus spent eons of time with god learning what his father does.

  i gotta question: what purpose does that serve?

  is god preparing jesus to do something that he himself is tired of or is no longer able to do?

  I want a copy of that book.

  I am amazed that my folks who converted to Jehovahdoom in the early 70's and who are now fast approaching an old age ,(that I'm sure they never expected to reach before Armageddon), are still dutiffully going to ASSemblies and spending a small fortune on more craptower literature like that stuff in the video . . . amazing.

  the best thing for me..... my son stopped over and he realized he needs to buy a home....so we quickly did a run on the internet in our neighborhood and he found a jewel.. whether he gets it or not....it was fun for both my husband and myself to go see, help him ask questions and give him the ok.. it's probably just a dream, but reminded us of our younger days.. how was your day?

  MY B-I-L IS IN THE HOSPITAL

  here's another update on my brother in law:.

  my sister and b-i-l went to the cancer center in toronto earlier this week to see about getting the stemcell transplant for his disease.

  it was actually an encouraging visit as the oncologist there said that they did not feel his condition had progressed into the acute myloid leukemia yet and that he had longer---up to 2 years---than what his local oncologist had said.

  I remember we read through a few book study books, but only recall clearly the Truth That Leads To Eternal Life. And thanks for the reminder about the Book Of Bible Stories for kids; I think I might have read it all the way through, or at least looked at all of the pictures for endless hours. I think I read the Youth book on getting the most out of masturbation, too.
